I've had this only a couple of weeks, but seems a great addition to my desk!

It works well, only cut out when I used a USB 2.0 cable, with 3.0 it works really well! Can't not have one after using this. This is my first one so I can't serve as a comparison with other makes/models. If I bought this again I'd go for a dual output

I think one star is unfair. I've test-driven this for our company on a Surface Pro with Windows 8 and it worked really nicely. I now use this every day with my Windows 7 Enterprise laptop and an ultra-wide full HD monitor and I have nothing but praise. Also, the integrated audio card on the laptop gives me the most annoying crackle (something to do with interrupts from the network card, mouse input, etc.) and this is completely absent with the dock's sound card. To the point that I dumped the "official" hardware dock for my laptop in favor of this device.
Each morning, I set my laptop on the desk, plug in the power cable, usb cable from the dock, and I'm ready to go...
It works on USB2 but I venture USB3 gives better results.
I'd add a fifth star if there were an audio driver with an equalizer.

Rated 1 out of 5�by BobG Docking Station Doesn't Work with Surface Pro 3.0
I tried for weeks to make this work: downloaded and reinstalled DisplayLink software a couple of times but nothing helps. The problem is that the power supply doesn't move thru the Docking station into the Surface, which means it's running on battery all the time. Without that function, the other docking functions are taken care of with a $10 multi-USB hub and a $39 Ethernet connector.
